Our Mission
Our mission is to serve as both cheerleader and critic for our local performing arts. Through honest reviews and thoughtful commentary, we aim to honor the hard work of local artists, encourage excellence in performance, and help audiences discover the magic happening right in their own backyard.
My name is Bob McGill. I am a Quincy, CA local. I volunteer my time in town as a football coach, actor director, and comedian. I am a husband and father of three.
I’m what you might call an unpaid, overly enthusiastic theatre critic or more accurately, an amateur thespian who can’t resist a good spotlight. I’m not here to hand out Tony Awards or write scathing takedowns, I just love the smell of fresh paint, the sound of applause and the occasional missed cue that keeps things interesting.
I started this little corner of the internet because our local theatre scene deserves a standing ovation and maybe a gentle nudge now and then. I believe in honest reviews with a sense of humor, where “constructive criticism” doesn’t feel like a bad Yelp rating.
At the end of the day, I’m just a fan in the audience with a sense of humor and a deep appreciation for anyone brave enough to step on stage under bright, warm lights.
